Three years ago, Christina was at her lowest point both physically and mentally. She was heavier than she was even while pregnant with her three children, had aches and pains everywhere, was on anxiety medication, and just overall felt awful. This was during the pandemic, and she had just accepted that this was her personal ‘hard’ during the unprecedented times. Then she got the email from her boss that she would be returning to the office!
A small group personal training workout group right in her Gainesville community!
A post came up on her neighborhood facebook page about a new workout group that was forming. Although she was scared and didn’t want to go, she took that first step and joined Home Turf Fitness and a few neighbors for a six week session. She remembers how challenging that time was, and how she ‘rolled’ herself into each and every workout. Christina was super consistent with attendance, and would reach out to her trainer and group when she felt like she couldn’t do it for encouragement and accountability.
After a bit of time, she realized that you can’t out train a poor diet. She worked with one of the Home Turf Fitness nutrition coaches to get that aspect in check! Learning how to properly fuel her body was instrumental in dropping the weight that she knew she needed to.
Fast forward to now – Christina is a completely different person. Not only has she transformed her body composition, but her energy and mental health is fabulous! Christina continues to work out with her Home Turf Fitness group twice a week, and has added in additional exercise on her own as well! She feels strong and confident in her body – and as a bonus no longer needs to be on her anxiety medication!
Christina’s group meets in the Broad Run Oaks/Virginia Oaks neighborhood of Gainesville, VA on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 – 7:30 pm! They have openings for the next six week session that will start on April 12! This is a wonderful group with zero judgment and loads of laughs, accountability, and support.
